PARK(ing) Day

 PARK(ing) Day is an international day of tactical urbanism to repurpose the right-of-way (typically on-street parking spaces) into parks, bikeways, and other public purposes. Every year it is held on the third Friday of September. Learn more on SDOT’s website.

In 2018, Green Lake & Wallingford Safe Streets hosted two “parklets” as part of our advocacy to improve two intersections.

1. East Green Lake Way/Drive, 71st Street, and Ravenna Boulevard.

2. Green Lake Way, Stone Way, and 50th Street.
