The Tangletown ROWing Club is a tactical urbanism effort in the sub-neighborhood of Tangletown. We bound Tangletown as 65th Street to 50th Street, Green Lake Way N to 5th Avenue NE, with its heart at the intersection of N 56th Street and Keystone Place N. “ROW” stands for “right-of-way.”
Current efforts
Educating the public on how the neighborhood watch signs are rooted in racism and the police state, and replacing these “watch” signs with more welcoming messages.
Creating a communication for organizers of Play Street and Neighborhood Night Out parties.
Creating painted intersections and community crosswalks in the heart of Tangletown’s business district.
Installing “toppers” on the street signs along 1st Ave NE to mark an unofficial (but planned) neighborhood greenway route.
